Outside of academia I play competitive Roller Derby - a full-contact, team sport played on quad roller skates. I skate under the name Oblivion Newton-John, in honour of the greatest skating movie of all time Xanadu!

In 2025 I was proud to represent Scotland at the Roller Derby World Cup, where I was one of fifteen skaters from around the world recognised as a Roller Derby World Cup All Star. I have previously skated with London Brawling, Connecticut Cutthroats, Dundee Bonnie Colliders, and Cambridge Punt Rockers, but this season I am excited to skate with London Brawl Saints in the Five Nations Roller Derby Championship.
