Outside of academia I play competitive Roller Derby - a full contact sport played on quad roller skates. I skate under the name Oblivion Newton-John, in honour of the greatest skating movie of all time Xanadu.

I skate for three teams: Team Scotland (Scotland’s national world cup training squad), London Brawling (one of the top ranked teams in Europe) and London Brawl Saints (who skate in the top tier of the UK’s Five Nations).

London Roller Derby is open to all women (including transgender and intersex) as well as non-binary and gender expansive participants. You can learn more about Roller Derby in general here and London Roller Derby specifically here.
